Bowling Report

November 16, 2006 at 4:19 pm (Uncategorized)

Yep, I know. It’s well into the season and still no bowling reports. Well, I am pleased to announce that this week really isn’t going to be any different. I will say that DEP bowled quite well, with one game that he was disappointed with (although it was over his average) and I was pretty much in the same boat. First and third games over 200 and 2nd game only 147.

But we sure had a good time, as always…even though I got a beer spilled in my lap. :( And worst of all, it was MY beer that somebody else spilled!! AND it was a Killian’s!! Fortunately, it was in the third game, so at least people didn’t think I had wet my pants ALL night.

Jobs

November 15, 2006 at 9:40 am (Uncategorized)

Last night I was playing a video game online (yes, I play video games at my age!) and I was chatting with a woman in North Carolina. She was telling me that her boss does a lot of kissing up to her because he knows that she can leave there and get another job the same day. I pointed out that that wasn’t the case here and that people were hanging on to their jobs with everything they’ve got. She informed me that jobs were abundant in NC.

The whole conversation got me to thinking about all the people I know who are currently unemployed. I think I know more now than I ever have. That’s not good. And all these folks being out of work can have an impact on everyone else, too. I know how it has affected the living situation for a few of the ones that I know. And it can also put a strain on relationships.

So the next time your boss is getting on your nerves, or that annoying coworker is really getting to you, thank God that you have an annoying coworker and a boss who gets on your nerves. Some folks out there aren’t that lucky.

Been Too Long

November 13, 2006 at 8:26 am (Uncategorized)

It’s been way too long since I posted. I don’t really have much to say, but I’m gonna post just the same. So, um, how ’bout them Wolverines, huh? Okay Jim…how ’bout them Buckeyes, huh? Boy, that was painful! :)

I got the opportunity to help a brother yesterday. It wasn’t much, I just personally invited him to get some prayer time. I was happy that he didn’t resist. I was even happier that I was able to help…even if I turned the actual praying part over to another brother.
