10 Days?

January 28, 2007 at 9:51 pm (Whining)

It doesn’t seem like almost 10 days since I last posted. And that wasn’t much of a post, either. Well, not much in the way of content, anyway. But this one proves to be much the same as that. Not much to say still.

My drain backed up…again. Makes me extremely frustrated. Always happens on a weekend, it seems. So we put in “emergency” calls to 2 septic services. No replies from either. So now either me or my wife will have to miss some work to have this drain snaked out because the access is inside the stupid house. Yes, I just called an inanimate object stupid. Get over it. :-) I guess that’s the end of my rant. More to come (or not).

Have a lovely day.

Bowling Report 1/17/2007

January 18, 2007 at 6:27 am (Bowling)

In this week’s spotlight is Mr. Pudgeman again! He bowled a 219, 238 and then fell apart in the third for a 590 series. Yes, “fell apart” IS a score. At least in my world it is. I was miles behind the Pudgemeister, however. I started out fairly good with a 190, then a mediocre 164, then a measly 149. I’m not going to make excuses for myself. I just need to practice. But we had fun, even though we only won one game.

And that’s the way I remember it, January 17, 2007 (corrections and additions will be made in the comments section later by the Pudgeman).

Because I Can

January 18, 2007 at 6:19 am (Uncategorized)

In regards to the video posted below…some/all of you are probably wondering why I posted that. One person actually came right out and asked, “why?”. So here’s the answer…I dunno, because I can. I’m not sure what I was thinking at the time, but I wanted to see if I could make the video, which I can, put it on Youtube, which I can, and put it on my blog, which I did. So there you have it. It’s not one tiny bit deeper than that.

Silly Video

January 13, 2007 at 11:19 am (Nonsense)

As some of you know, I play a game called Guild Wars. I am part of a Guild called Rebel Dragons. Anyway, someone in our alliance asked for videos and screenshots so he could make a new alliance video. I didn’t have any footage because I had never taken the time to download the software. Well, there’s a program called Fraps that is designed for in game video. The demo version only allows 30 seconds of video, but it’s fun to mess with. If the dancing is more suggestive than you like, I apologize. I just type /dance and she dances.

I recorded a video and put some music to it. I give you… the Dancing Queen.

Bowling Report 1/10/2007

January 11, 2007 at 10:37 am (Uncategorized)

We won.

Pudge will never be satisfied with that report, so here’s the rest. After having a horrible night last time out, I started climbing back to my old form. I’m still struggling with some things, but at least all my games were over 150. I was the proud winner of last week’s Wooden Spoon award, though. That is the “award” that is handed out to the person with the score farthest under their average. I was an incredible 68 pins under in my first game last week. Oh yeah…something to be proud of.

Our beloved Pudgeman came back from his honeymoon and boy, has his bowling grip improved since he got married! It was great to have him back and he bowled like a madman. I don’t remember his scores (I really should write these things down), but he had a 628 series and helped us to a 7 point night. Way to go, Pudgeman!!

And that’s the way it was (or at least the way I remember it), January 10, 2007

What Did I Do?

January 10, 2007 at 11:09 am (Uncategorized)

Sometimes I use that phrase when something goes wrong. As if I did something bad to deserve something bad. Well, yeah, sometimes I do…but that’s another post. But even at work, I get bounced around from department to department doing various jobs and covering for different people while they’re sick or on vacation. That’s also a time I sometimes say “what did I do?”. I want to know what it is that I did that makes them think that I can just be bounced around like a rubber ball. Then it occurs to me (sometimes)…they trust me. They know I can do the job and do it at a decent level of productivity and quality. So maybe I shouldn’t ask “what did I do?” but rather say, “look what I can do”.

On the other hand, I have been blessed beyond belief throghout my life and yet I still keep wondering “what did I do?”. I don’t deserve the good things that I have. My family, friends, church family, house, cars, job, food, clothing, etc., etc., etc. But I have them anyway. What did I do to deserve these things? Was I just born in the right place at the right time? Is it for a specific reason that I’ve got all this?

What did I do??

A Legend Retires

January 3, 2007 at 10:07 am (Uncategorized)

After playing for the Detroit Red Wings for 22 seasons, Steve Yzerman retired last summer. What a great leader in the hockey world and in the Red Wings organization. I was fortunate enough to have watched him play for most of his career. I was also fortunate enough to have seen his number retired and raised to the rafters last night (on television, unfortunately). Thank you, Steve! You were a dandy!!
