Christmas Cheer
I know, it’s not even Thanksgiving, but I got a link to a video celebrating Christmas, so I’m sharing it. It pretty much sums up my feelings about the holiday (or should I say Holy Day?). Enjoy!!
Another Urgent Prayer Request
Most of you know my good friend Raivynn, and you know about her best friend Tek. Well, he’s back in the hospital. Let’s all lift him and his family up in prayer again, please!
Finally…
It’s been a while since I blogged. I’ve been super busy and simply not had the ambition to write anything. Well, now I have something worth writing about. I got an email forwarded to me today that came from a former coworker. He was in an accident yesterday and somehow survived. He’s not even in the hospital! Look at these pictures he sent…
Now here’s the email he sent. Pay particular attention to the last paragraph. I know I did.
These are the pics from the accident. I am in shock on how I walk away from this accident. Warning there will be a couple possible bloody images from the passenger side off the vehicle. I was wearing my seat belt. The doctors said that I served from an anxiety attack on the way home. I remember not feeling right and having to take a deep breathe and that is all I know … I have had memory lapse (or loss).
I look pretty normal except two blacks (minor), I bite through inside lip where there is nothing but a hole, left shoulder is pretty banged up and can’t move it much, my hands are a mess, I have a huge steering wheel across my forehead, and a lot of contusions on my head, neck, frontal lobe of my head.
I had GOD sitting right there with me the entire time. If I had any doubts about GOD in my life, yesterday and today has been a complete life changing event. Thank you GOD for taking me under your arm to safety. I am a believe from this point on in my life.
I don’t how I am alive today???!!!!????
Unfortunately, sometimes it takes extreme circumstances to make us realize that God is indeed with us…always. This young man has seen that and appears to be turning over control to Him. Praise God!!
ICE
I got this in my email this morning. I thought it was a good idea. I’m sure many of you have heard of it before, but I’m always a day late and a dollar short, so I’m sharing it anyway.
Isn’t it true that we all carry our mobile phones with hundreds of
names/numbers stored in its memory but yet nobody, other than
ourselves, know which of these numbers belong to our near and dear ones?Let us for a moment create a scenario wherein (God forbid):
We are involved in an accident or had a heart attack and the
people attending us get hold of our mobile phone but don’t know which
number to call to inform our family members.Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact
person in case of an emergency? For this reason, we must have one or more telephone numbers stored
under the name ICE (In case of Emergency) in our mobile phones.Read below for more details……
Recently, the concept of “ICE” is catching up quickly. It is simple,
an important method of contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by majority of the population, all you need
to do is store the number of a contact person or person who should be
contacted at during emergency as “ICE” (meaning In Case of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when they went to
the scenes o f accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients,
but they didn’t know which number to call.He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a
nationally recognized name for this purpose.Following a disaster in London , the East Anglican Ambulance Service has
launched a national “In case of Emergency (ICE)” campaign. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital
staff
would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply
dialing the number stored as “ICE”.Please f orward this. It won’t take too many “forwards” before every body
will know about this.It really could save your life, or put a loved one’s mind at rest.
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc.
A great idea that will make a difference!
Let’s spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our mobile
phones today!
So who you gonna call? No, Ghostbusters is NOT the answer.
Private Viewing
Apparently, some of you had trouble getting to my site the last couple days.
I’d like to apologize for any inconvenience. Somehow, I set a preference to “private”. Only approved people could view it, and I was the only one approved. I have since fixed this problem (thank you Raivynn and Vera for letting me know). If you can’t read this, send me an email and I’ll try to fix it again. Yep, think about that one for a while.
Because I Can
In regards to the video posted below…some/all of you are probably wondering why I posted that. One person actually came right out and asked, “why?”. So here’s the answer…I dunno, because I can. I’m not sure what I was thinking at the time, but I wanted to see if I could make the video, which I can, put it on Youtube, which I can, and put it on my blog, which I did. So there you have it. It’s not one tiny bit deeper than that.
Bowling Report 1/10/2007
We won.
Pudge will never be satisfied with that report, so here’s the rest. After having a horrible night last time out, I started climbing back to my old form. I’m still struggling with some things, but at least all my games were over 150. I was the proud winner of last week’s Wooden Spoon award, though. That is the “award” that is handed out to the person with the score farthest under their average. I was an incredible 68 pins under in my first game last week. Oh yeah…something to be proud of.
Our beloved Pudgeman came back from his honeymoon and boy, has his bowling grip improved since he got married! It was great to have him back and he bowled like a madman. I don’t remember his scores (I really should write these things down), but he had a 628 series and helped us to a 7 point night. Way to go, Pudgeman!!
And that’s the way it was (or at least the way I remember it), January 10, 2007
What Did I Do?
Sometimes I use that phrase when something goes wrong. As if I did something bad to deserve something bad. Well, yeah, sometimes I do…but that’s another post. But even at work, I get bounced around from department to department doing various jobs and covering for different people while they’re sick or on vacation. That’s also a time I sometimes say “what did I do?”. I want to know what it is that I did that makes them think that I can just be bounced around like a rubber ball. Then it occurs to me (sometimes)…they trust me. They know I can do the job and do it at a decent level of productivity and quality. So maybe I shouldn’t ask “what did I do?” but rather say, “look what I can do”.
On the other hand, I have been blessed beyond belief throghout my life and yet I still keep wondering “what did I do?”. I don’t deserve the good things that I have. My family, friends, church family, house, cars, job, food, clothing, etc., etc., etc. But I have them anyway. What did I do to deserve these things? Was I just born in the right place at the right time? Is it for a specific reason that I’ve got all this?
What did I do??
